Funding for Fire Safe Council Programs
Funding for all Fire Safe Council of San Diego programs is derived from various sources:
Agency Sources:
Significant funding for all Fire Safe Council of San Diego County programs is provided by National Fire Plan Grants through the California Fire Safe Council’s Grants Clearinghouse.
Funding agencies include the Bureau of Land Management, the U.S.D.A. Forest Service, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
Foundation and Corporate Grants:
Additional funding for Fire Safe Council of San Diego County programs come from local and regional private and corporate foundations, and from local businesses for specific projects that allow us to further meet the goals of FSCSDC.
Individuals:
The Fire Safe Council of San Diego County as well as the Resource Conservation District of Greater San Diego County accepts donations from individuals. Both organizations are recognized by the IRS as a tax-exempt, and as such, all contributions to them are tax-deductible as allowable by law.
All donors will receive thank you letters indicating the year and amount of the contribution that can be used as tax- deductible receipts when filing their annual taxes. Donors may also designate how they want their donations to be used, whether for expanded chipping services; for Fire Safe Council support; or for general programs of the RCD or the FSCSDC.
