San Diego County has over 50 community Fire Safe Councils, the most out of any county in the state. One of our functions as the county-wide Fire Safe Council is to support community Fire Safe Councils with their programs and to help new Fire Safe Councils form.

We’ve conducted hundreds of free, educational, non-regulatory defensible space and home-hardening assessments for homeowners in select communities of the county. This year we are serving Crest, Bonita, Spring Valley, Fallbrook, and east Chula Vista. Our service areas change every year so be sure to check that you are within our area when applying.

After receiving a home assessment we can assist residents who are physically and financially unable to create their own defensible space.
